Hassleback Cinnamon Pears

Hands up who wants a simple, impressive dessert idea?? I made these for a demo at the weekend and they were delish. Imagine being served with a drizzle of warmed caramel sauce, or Nutella, with ice cream on the side 🙊 tell me how you’d have yours 🍐

You’ll need:

• 1 sheet of puff pastry

• 3 Pears

• 3 tablespoons of soft brown sugar

• Tablespoon of cinnamon

How to?

1. Unroll the dough. Preheat the oven to 180oC and line a baking sheet with greaseproof paper.

2. Cut the pears in half and cut out the middle. Place the pear with the cut side flat on the sideboard and using a small paring knife cut out small wedges from the halves or simply make frequent cuts along (but do not cut the whole way through).

3. In a bowl, mix the sugar with cinnamon together well. Dip the flat side of the pear halve into the mixture (you want the sugar to stick).

4. Put the pears, flat side down onto the pastry and cut around the edge of the pear, leaving about 1.5-2cm border from the edge of the pears. Do not forget to cut the leaves and using a toothpick score to make a pattern on the leaves.

5. Transfer to the baking sheet lined with baking parchment and place into the preheated for 15-20 minutes-until the dough is golden.

6. Leave to cool for 10 minutes, sift some icing sugar on top enjoy.
